THE BAIT AND SWITCH GOSPEL
What gospel did you say yes to? Were you approached with the "If you died tonight where would you spend eternity" gospel? Did you say yes to heaven, but not yes to Jesus? Could it be that we're making false conversions by dangling heaven in front of people as if heaven is the selling point rather than Jesus himself?
How many people do you know who "gave their lives to Christ" not understanding that if there's no conversion, there's no conversion. Yes, they wanted the assurance of an eternity in heaven, but what happens when someone says yes then there's:
Are we leading people into a false sense of salvation? Jesus said, "You cannot be my disciple unless you love me more than you love your father and mother, your wife and children, and your brothers and sisters. You cannot follow me unless you love me more than you love your own life. You cannot be my disciple unless you carry your own cross and follow me."
